How green is your garden?

eco gardening kit.jpg

Biomelifestyle is a website name which fails to stick in my brain, which is a shame because it's products are truly green and wonderful. It's one of the few stylish eco-friendly sites, that has really creative goods. This garden set is not exactly cutting edge, but it's one of the best starter kits I've seen. For £62 you've got every green gardeners desire from recycled plastic trug to bottle top waterers - a great start to a more eco friendly life.

Trading Barn Lights

barn lamp 2.jpg

I'm not surprisd that this Barn lamp is on the Best Sellers list at The Garden Trading company. This £26.50 light is based on lamps that were used on outbuildings and stables to facilitate checking on animals at night or early morning tack. It comes in a range of colours and the indoor or outdoor versions are CE approved and are IP rated. While you're there check out the votive lights and hooks - all practical and well designed.

Air Chairs

magis chair.jpg

Purves online is a more enjoyable experience for me than being in the shop. This £60 Magis Air chair is an affordable designer chair that as well as being stylish and functional is also lightweight and stackable. Designed for Magis by Jasper Morrison, it looks quite simple but involves the latest technology of vacuum moulding combined with durable polypropylene and glass fibre. The Air Chair can be used indoors or out and is a very comfy sit.

Calling all birds..

birdball mounted.jpg

I just love these birdballs and am delighted that they now have a wall mounted version of this elegant dwelling. It's handmade in clay and its spherical shape offers protection from nature's intruders, and will encourage small garden birds like Coal tits, Marsh tits, Blue tits and Great tits to nest in your garden. Pay your £34 to the Urban Garden and then watch the birdies.

Gardens get arty

wall art.jpg

I had to point you in the direction of Beth Steven's website because it reflects a solid selection of classic contemporary pieces for the home. Lots of the usual suspects like Joseph, Normann Copenhagen, Eva Solo and Alessi. But she's also picked up on a summer theme which was abundant at the recent Spring Fair at the NEC,which is garden wall art. This tree piece along with cow parsley and bubble art was in hot demand. She has yet to put a price and availability date on her collection, but it's promised to be coming soon...

Stellata Blooms

magnoliastellata.jpg

I've decided to ditch the card this Valentine's day and get something a little more permanenet. No, not a dog but this Spring flowering magnolia from Market Net It can represent the blossoming of our love and hopefully provide a screen from the neighbours for £58.50. This site is worth looking at for examples of great mushy cheesiness with the odd good idea thrown in.
