Apples and Hearts

heart feeder.jpg

Why not show how much you love your nearest and dearest and the birds as well this Valentines day. Be original and buy this rustic, heart shaped bird feeder for £9.50 from Garden Boutique. Should you run out of apples, you could pop a votive light in place instead. Beats boring red roses for me.

Bobbin Twine

balls of twine.jpg

As our house is still a mess of boxes and paper, I'd like to own this bobbin string just so I could pretend that there was order in some part of my life. £16.50 would buy me this antique bobbin with brass fittings and fllled with a large ball of twine in either red, green or natural. There are quite a few desirables at Willow and Stone which would give any girl a sense of calm and order in the midst of caous.

City Lawns

Contemporary gazebos. pretty pergolas, envirocycle composters and dazzling fireworks can all be found at Sort out your Garden. But what really attracted me was the unusual range of artificial lawns. I loathe this green stuff but love the visual and textural qualites it provides. So you may in future find me hoovering my £10 per metre square city lawn with great pride.

Garden Punchbags

punchbag.jpg

I should have featured one of their many stylish anglepoise lamps at the Gunpowder House. But I could not resist this enticing brown leather punch bag for £75. Not only would it look great in the garden, but it could save you a fortune in neurofen and slammed doors. All that teenage angst and anger could be channelled into a good beating of the punch bag. Why hasn't every home got one ?

Sitting Pretty

garden set.jpg

If you can think beyond your credit card damage and fuzzy post New Year head- then take a look at the Garden Furniture 4u website. This unattractively named Bogor garden set is reduced from £199 to £149. It's made from acacia hardwood and includes the table, 2 benches and 2 chairs. At this price I doubt it can have too ethical a background.
