Woven Ground

butterfly rug.jpg

I pass Woven Ground (rug heaven) every day on my way to school. Should we ever get to the stage of needing rugs rather than a new rear end to our house, then this 90cm by 160cm acrylic butterfly beauty will be on my shopping list for Erin. This shop has got every conceivable design, style and colour combination you could ever desire. If you still can't find what you like, then simply design your own. Meanwhile I shall just dream about them.

Dunelm Picks

dunelm.jpg

Dunelm might not be an obvious destinaton point for you unless you live close to one or if you're my sister. But if you've got a keen eye and want to do a cheap and quick make-over then log on and pick up an assortment of cushion covers from £1.99 or an eye-catching 91cm Rialto roller blind starting from 21.99. Then finish off with a cherry Spriza wall clock for £4.99 and a lima rug for £29.99. Then lie about where you bought them.

Oliver Bonanza

oliver boans.jpg

I've got a soft spot for the Oliver Bonas shops, as they always seem in the throes of an identity crisis. In one swift shop you could be the owner of this vintage ceramic knob in a luscious cream or vibrant green, for a very respectable £4.50. Or pick up some great children's wooden toys; a resplendent chandelier and a massively reduced nolita party dress for £29 - forget Asda this is everything in one log on.

Guests Galore

muji bed.jpg

If you've suddenly got an extra guest for Christmas then I'd recommend buying this grey charcoal flannel sofa bed from Muji for £495. Mine has seen many bodies sleep and bounce on it, but still it remains fairly presentable and relatively sane. Throw in a vibrant red acrylic Christmas tree, some bath crayons and a city in a bag and youv'e been well and truly mujied.
